In the mid 1960's, Diane Skoug, a high school teacher, met, fell in love, and married Roger Huth, a Midwestern farmer who could not resist Diane's sweet personality or her rhubarb upside down cake. On the Huth family farm, Diane and Roger cultivated crops such as corn and oats, milked roughly 70 cows each day, and most importantly raised their five sons: Charles, Richard, Arvid, Benjamin, and Maynard. They believed in teaching the boys hard work ethics and good strong family values. Days on the farm were long, but also fun and rewarding. They started around 4:30am so the boys could do their chores and still catch the school bus by 7:00am. Evening chores were also expected of all the boys. Once all the chores were finished, in an effort to keep the boys busy during the summer months, Roger would send the boys out to the field to pick Wild Mustard weed for pay. The boys would earn one penny for each plant brought back from the field. This way of life was an ideal way to raise a family, and a great way to spend a childhood.

After the boys grew up, Arvid, the middle son, left for college with dreams of one day starting his own business. When Arvid (age 21) decided it was time to pursue his version of the American dream, he convinced his younger brother Benjamin (age 19), to join him. Reluctantly, the two brothers sold seven of their cows, their two snowmobiles, and borrowed $10,000 from their parents. Then Arvid and Ben packed their bags and headed for the big city. In July of 1993, they hoisted their first "Open for Business" sign for P.M. Bedroom Gallery with an unparalleled dedication to quality furniture, customer satisfaction, and some very long hours. By day, they worked the showroom floor and by night Arvid managed the paperwork and Ben handled the furniture. Slowly, but very steadily, word started to spread one, satisfied customer at a time.

Now over a decade later, despite having the largest bedroom gallery in the Midwest, not much has changed... Roger still can't resist Diane's rhubarb upside down cake, Arvid and Ben still have an unparalleled dedication to quality furniture and customer satisfaction, and P.M. continues to grow one satisfied customer at a time.

The P.M. Difference

The story above is a true story of two brothers selling their two snowmobiles and seven cows, and leaving their family farm for the big city to open a quality bedroom furniture store dedicated to customer satisfaction. But, it is the P.M. difference with styles, selection, and quality that has created over 100,000 satisfied P.M. customers and made P.M. Bedroom Gallery the largest bedroom gallery in the Midwest...one satisfied customer at a time.
